This document describes the privacy policy for myHomework advertising accounts. By using an advertising account you are agreeing to this policy, which is considered part of the myHomework advertising terms of use.
When you sign into your myHomework advertising account, we use HTTPS to ensure your information is encrypted as it travels over the internet. If you're using a modern web browser, look for the green bar!
During the signup process for a myHomework advertising account, we capture a few basic pieces of information about you. Here is a description of each data element we ask for and why we ask for it:
We ask for your organization's name, website and the name of a person to contact so we understand which organization you're advertising on behalf of and who we should contact with questions we might have.
There are a few different reasons we ask for your email address to create an account:
We ask for your timezone because that's the timezone we use to decide how to count impressions per day. A "day" will be with respect to the timezone you choose. You can change your timezone preference at any time by visiting your settings page.
You choose a password when you create your account. Your password can be changed at any time by visiting your settings page. Keep in mind the following:
After you choose your password we store it encrypted in our database(s). We will never email it to you and we discourage you from using any service that does something like that.
To fund your advertising account you can pay by credit card. We use Stripe services to accept, validate and process credit card payments. Your credit card information is never sent to our servers, it is only sent to Stripe, which is secure and PCI-compliant. We do require you to have JavaScript enabled in your web browser so that we can communicate with Stripe without the need for your credit card information to go to us. You can read Stripe's security overview page for more information.
Although we have no current plans to, we do reserve the right to use a different credit card payments service at some point. Should that day come, we will update this policy with information about the change.
When you create ad campaigns you're able to target your ads to students by their general location and age, depending on the ad level you choose. We do not, however, provide you with information that uniquely identifies a student. We will provide information about the number of impressions and clicks your ads have received, but will not share student emails, specific location or any other uniquely identifiable information without that student's explicit consent.
The myhomeworkapp.com website currently uses Google Analytics to provide information about its visitors. Each page on the site includes a small script that sends basic device information to Google, which is displayed in a dashboard for us to analyze. We use the data to understand things like what type of web browsers or mobile devices our users are using, how often users visit the site, which pages users spend the most time on and what application flows might need to be improved. If you want to learn more, you can read the Google Analytics Privacy Overview, which includes information about how to opt-out of Google Analytics if you want to.
Although we have no current plans to, we do reserve the right to use a different website analytics solution at some point. Should that day come, we will update this policy with information about the change.
You can see the date this privacy policy was last modified at the top of this document. If you continue to use your myHomework advertising account after a privacy policy change, then you are agreeing to abide by the updated policy.
